Safe Sitter Essentials with CPR is a more condensed, faster paced class, compared to our regular "Safe Sitter" two-day class.
Better baby sitters today make better parents tomorrow. Designed by a pediatrician, this two-day class teaches students in grades 6-8 (must have completed 5th grade) to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who's choking, and helpful information like what to do if there is severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice CPR and choking rescue!
Participants receive a certificate of completion.
Students are asked to bring their own lunch and beverages, because this is an all day class.
Please bring a lunch each day.
The class will be held in the basement of the Bronson Gilmore Center for Health Education.
