Many of us have learned the basics of CPR or the Heimlich maneuver to be prepared to act in a life threatening emergency, but would you know what to do if someone was injured and losing a significant amount of blood? Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death from a trauma and can be caused by any number of injuries. Massive bleeding injuries can happen at home, during summer leisure activities like boating or working outside, or from unfortunate events like an active shooter or explosion.
