Program Objectives

  • Understand the changes to the edge of viability and indications for resuscitation of 22 week infants
  • Describe the transition from fetal to neonatal circulation and describe the risk factors and clinical presentation of PPHN
  • Understand the risk factors and management of Pulmonary Hypertension in the chronic preterm infant with BPD
  • Understand the risk factors and pathogenesis of intraventricular hemorrhage, understand the subtypes of IVH, and anticipate some of the short and long term outcomes
  • Articulate the motivating purpose and guiding principles that energize clinical and interpersonal excellence

Directions to the Gilmore Center

From the NORTH (Plainwell, Grand Rapids) or SOUTH (Schoolcraft, Three Rivers) via US-131
Take US-131 to the M-43 East exit #38 (West Main St.). Follow the directions below:

From the WEST (South Haven) via M-43
Follow M-43 east, which turns into West Main St. and then into Michigan Avenue at the intersection of Stadium Drive. Stay on Michigan Avenue three blocks farther to Rose St. Turn right (south) on Rose St.
Follow Rose Street five blocks to Walnut Street. Turn left (east) on Walnut and follow it three blocks to Jasper Street. Turn left (north) on Jasper Street and proceed to the Jasper Street Ramp entrance on your left in the middle of the block.

From the WEST (Chicago, Paw Paw) via I-94
Take I-94 east to the Westnedge Avenue North exit #76. Follow Westnedge through several lights. At the top of a large hill, Westnedge will split and become Park Street (one-way north). Follow Park Street to Crosstown Parkway and turn right.
Follow Crosstown Parkway several blocks (moving to the left lane) to Jasper Street. Turn left on Jasper Street and proceed two and a half blocks to the Jasper Street Ramp entrance on your left, just past Walnut Street.

From the EAST (Richland) via M-43
Follow M-43 west, which turns into Gull Road. Follow Gull Road to Riverview Drive. Turn left (south) on Riverview Drive and follow it, keeping right, as it flows into Kala-mazoo Avenue. Follow Kalama-zoo Avenue several blocks, moving into the far left lane. At Rose Street turn left (south). Follow Rose Street.
Follow Rose Street five blocks to Walnut Street. Turn left (east) on Walnut and follow it three blocks to Jasper Street. Turn left (north) on Jasper Street and proceed to the Jasper Street Ramp entrance on your left in the middle of the block.

From the EAST (Battle Creek, Detroit) via I-94
Take I-94 west to the Kalamazoo exit #78 (Portage Road). Merge on to Kilgore Street. Turn right (north) on to Portage Street. Follow Portage Street several miles to Walnut Street. Turn left (west) on to Walnut Street. Follow Walnut Street to the Bronson Methodist Hospital Campus. Turn right
(north) on to Jasper Street.
