This one-session class should be taken between the 28th and 38th week of pregnancy. We expect each mom registered will bring a support person with her to class.
During this class, you will learn:
- Basics of baby care
- Choosing a pediatrician
- What to expect with your newborn
- Nurturing and soothing
- Bathing, diapering, and skin care
- Feeding
- Infant CPR with hands-on practice with CPR dolls
- Safe Sleep
- How to make your home the safest possible environment
- Car seat safety
- How to talk with and teach others about safe sleep, home safety, and car seat safety
Medicaid is accepted and financial aid is available.

*This class takes place on a Saturday morning from 9 am to noon, with a one-hour lunch break, then class resumes again from 1-4 p.m.
*The Infant Health, Care & Safety class is meant for expectant parents, while Grandparents 101 is meant for expectant grandparents. They are the same class/same sessions, but the registration information is different. Please encourage grandparents to sign up with you under the title "Grandparents 101".
This one-session class will be held in Bronson Gilmore Center for Health Education. You should plan to bring along one support person to class. Please check TV monitor screens to confirm which classroom.
You are welcome to bring drinks or snacks to class.
