Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders (EGIDs) are diseases where eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, builds up in the digestive system. When there are too many EGIDs, it can cause harm and result in tissue damage in the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and/or the large intestine or colon. Our providers perform biopsies to detect these disorders.
