Gestational and Pregestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes is a form of high blood sugar that can affect women specifically during pregnancy. However, once the baby is delivered, gestational diabetes usually goes away.

Pregestational diabetes occurs when a pregnant woman has high blood sugar, but not high enough to be considered gestational diabetes.
