Labral Tear (SLAP)

A shoulder labral tear is also referred to as a SLAP (superior labral tear from anterior to posterior) tear, which is an injury to the labrum, the ring of the cartilage that surrounds the socket of the shoulder joint that helps keep the joint in place.
