Reticular veins are medium sized veins that are blue-green or purple in color. They are typically larger than spider veins, but smaller than varicose veins.
Reticular veins do not protrude above the skin like varicose veins do. However, they can cause pain and discomfort. Reticular veins are also known as feeder veins because they feed into spider veins and service as the source of excess blood.
