Stress Fracture - Bronson Healthcare

Stress Fracture

A small crack or bruising in the bone. Most stress fractures occur because of repetitive motion, increasing amount of intensity (overuse) in an activity, or using an unfamiliar surface. Stress fractures are common in runners or athletes involved in running sports, such as soccer, baseball and basketball. Stress fractures can cause swelling, and over time, can become more painful.
