My Approach to Care

I have great joy being able to practice across two specialties, urgent care and orthopedic surgery. I think one's practice of medicine is limited by their knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge. I strive everyday to learn more and do better. I am committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and aspire to positively impact the lives of my patients. I believe in caring for patients as I would personally like to be treated and would want my family members to be cared for.

Abby grew up in a small town (pop. 401) in the thumb area of Michigan and graduated with a class of 26. She came from humble beginnings and is very thankful for her small town hospitality and compassion.

Abby started her career as an athletic trainer and found her first love - orthopedics and sports medicine. Ultimately, she wanted to diversify and expand her abilities to address injuries and illness. In 2010, she completed a three year post grad physician assistant program and joined urgent care in Battle Creek. At that time, Abby found a family of colleagues along with her second love - general practice medicine. In 2015, she was given the opportunity to work with both urgent care and orthopedic specialties. Abby enjoys the wide variety of her work, saying "no two days are ever the same".

On occasion, Abby is a guest lecture at her alma mater - Grand Valley State University. In her free time, Abby enjoys travelling.
