Alexandra Olds, PA-C, chose to become a physician's assistant for many reasons. For one, she enjoys healthcare, science and the functioning of the human body. More importantly, she was drawn to the field to have the ability to heal, educate and make a substantial difference in someone's life. Alexandra was drawn to cardiology because of the continuity of care in the operating room, intensive care settings, and the experience pre- and post-operative.
Alexandra's greatest influences in her life have been her parents and brother. Their endless support, encouragement and love is humbling and inspiring. The three of them lead by example, exemplifying the principles of hard work, commitment, generosity and most importantly - happiness. She believes the world is a better place because of people like them.
Alexandra also believes coming to work each day is a privilege. She is given the opportunity to touch the hearts of patients, literally and figuratively, which is something very special to her.
When Alexandra is not working, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time outdoors with family and friends. She makes physical activity a priority, particularly running, yoga, snowboarding and scuba diving. Most recently, she volunteered in the southeast islands of Thailand, scuba diving to provide coral reef restoration and marine conversation. Alexandra also participated in a medical mission to rural areas of Nicaragua to provide health and dental care to undeserved regions.
