My Approach to Care

I strive to treat every individual as that, an individual. Athletes are particular in their routines and what has worked for them in the past. I work with the athlete and shape their treatment program to fit their individual needs/wants. Advocating for the athletes is another big component to my role, especially in professional sports; making sure that their voice and concerns are heard is very important and something I take pride in doing.

Profile

Cody gravitated to his career because he knew that athletics wouldn't pay the bills. With a family member in the healthcare field and an interest in sports medicine and athletic training, he realized that being an athletic trainer would allow him to experience the best of both worlds. Cody's wife is also a athletic trainer at Bronson.

The fact that he never knows what challenge or situation he will face from day to day is an interesting part of being an athletic trainer and gets him excited to start each day.

He credits his immediate family as the biggest influences in his life. Two of his daughters have dealt with serious medical conditions early in their lives. Navigating these medical challenges alongside his wife has helped him to find balance and prioritize the important things in life.

In his free time, Cody enjoys diving into renovation projects on his home, working in the yard and garden and spending time with his family. Cody also volunteers at NHL Street Hockey Camps throughout the summer along with the Kalamazoo Wings.
