My Approach to Care

My focus is improving the care of those living with chronic pain. Much like diabetes and other chronic conditions, chronic pain is best managed, not cured. To accomplish this, the person living with pain generally needs to understand the complex nature of pain and ways to engage more with life.

Jim became a physical therapist because he believes that movement is medicine. He has a special interest in helping people with chronic pain. Jim is excited to come to work each day to help patients develop their blueprints for self-care and find the tools to improve their lives. 

The book My Side of the Mountain by Jean George was one of the biggest influences on Jim's life. He grew up in the city and didn’t understand the power of nature until he read the book at age 11. He has been an outdoor lover since and incorporates movement into his daily life.  

Outside of work, Jim enjoys riding his bike, going cross country skiing and playing with his granddaughters.
