Profile

While working in a biomechanics lab at the beginning of her PhD training, Laura quickly discovered her passion for helping patients restore their function and mobility. She was fascinated by the opportunity to work with elite athletes, helping them fine-tune their performance and reach their full potential.

When Laura later had the opportunity to work with orthopedic trauma patients, she knew she had found her true calling. Helping individuals recover from injuries and return to their daily lives, work and sports is more than a profession for her. It is a source of genuine fulfillment and joy.

Laura credits her parents as the greatest influences in her life. They instilled in her the value of hard work, integrity, and the importance of always doing things the right way.

Driven by a lifelong love of learning, Laura views every day in medicine as an opportunity to gain new knowledge and perspectives. She is passionate about helping people live their lives to the fullest by providing compassionate, high-quality care.

As an athletic trainer, Laura has regularly volunteered at high school sports physical events during the late summer and fall. Having recently moved to Michigan, she looks forward to continuing that tradition and becoming involved in her new community.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys refinishing old furniture and building custom pieces. Her projects have included a dining room table, an entertainment center using sliding barn doors, and a front porch swing. In her free time, she also enjoys running, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, and spending time with her husband and son.
