Profile

Lindsay chose to go into Athletic Training because she found it intriguing. When she was in high school she became interested in how the athletic trainer could look at her and have a good idea of what was going on with an injury. Additionally, a career in athletic training offered her the opportunity to enjoy and watch sports while at the same time doing her job. Athletic training also allowed her the flexibility needed to have a family, if desired.

Lindsay credits her grandpa as the biggest influence in my life. He worked so hard to provide a good life for her grandma and their seven kids. When he and her grandma got married, she already had six kids and he stepped up and became a dad to them all. He was the main provider for the family as my grandma stayed home and took care of the house and all of the kids. He was also the only one who drove; so, he not only worked full time as a mechanic, but he transported everyone wherever they needed to go. On top of all that he had a small woodworking shop and small farm where he raised beef cows and had a large garden.

His work ethic was like none she had ever seen before - up before the sun and out until after dark. Even when he was sick with cancer, he still drove himself to all his appointments and worked as long as he could. He was never negative and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Lindsay strives every day to be half the person he was; and is trying to instill this work ethic in not only in my own kids but also the school kids she works with as she feels it sets one up for success.

Lindsay gets excited each day at the prospect of seeing all her student athletes and knowing she will always have a few hanging out in her room talking about life while waiting for their practice to start.

In her free time, Lindsay loves spending time with her family, particularly her husband Cody, her three daughters, Oakleigh, Cienna and Emersyn, and their two dogs, Ember and Brystal. The family enjoys spending time outdoors gardening. In the fall they love to share their produce with neighbors and friends as well as canning, so they have goods all winter long. She also enjoys working on home DIY projects.

Lindsay volunteers for an organization called First Day Shoe Fund. She has been fortunate to help this organization in a variety of ways from helping fit shoes on kids to unboxing and packaging shoes for distribution.

Lindsay’s husband is also an Athletic Trainer.
