As long as Dr. Merritt can remember, she has always had an interest in wanting to help others and work in the medical field. Her mother has been a big influence in her life. Dr. Merritt was inspired by her mother’s strong will and perseverance. Her mother encouraged her at a young age to always follow her dreams.

Now as a family medicine physician, Dr. Merritt enjoys coming to work each day because it brings the ability and potential to improve the health and wellbeing of patients. She is able to address a plethora of illnesses that may need treatment and has special interests in chronic medical diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and asthma. Additionally, she works with common upper respiratory infection as well as other acute problems.

When Dr. Merritt isn’t working, she participates in charge events and school activities. She also enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and reading.
