My Approach to Care

Connecting with patients, athletes, and parents is what helps the foundation of care. Creating trust that helps making someone feel safe in their worst moment. During my past decade in the profession, I have sought to bring this empathetic and patient-centered approach to all those I care for. I seek to understand how I can do my best to ensure that the best outcomes happen for all those who come to me for care. My hope is that I can make the stressful times of injury and unknown just a little easier.

Profile

Since high school, Nico wanted to maintain his love for sports and his affinity for medicine. Pursuing a career in athletic training fit the bill. Nico strives to help young athletes have the best opportunity to succeed in their athletic careers; in doing so, he wants to give them the best care possible.

Nico considers his parents as the biggest influences in his life. They pushed him from a young age, not only in sports, but also in education. They wanted him to take everything he did to the fullest extent and made sacrifices to make it happen. He says he cannot thank them enough for all they did in raising him.

Nico gets most excited by the unknown aspects of being an athletic trainer. He loves coming into work and not knowing what is going to happen that day. It might be an easy-going day where nothing happens, or it could be a chaotic day with multiple games and injuries. Not knowing what every day holds is an awesome adventure.

In his free time, Nico loves to travel, play golf, dine out and just enjoy quiet time. The one thing he stresses to all my athletes is to explore. He shares that there is more to life than just their sport and more world than an individual can imagine seeing. He suggests taking some time to go and see it for yourself.
