Profile

Shannon's son was diagnosed with a form of leukemia as a child and they spent hundreds of days in the hospital. It was during this time that she knew she wanted to go into healthcare and give back to my community in the same way so many had given to her family. Initially, she practiced seven years in family practice with exposure to multiple neurological conditions and her interest and passion continued to grow to learn more about how to treat, educate and support patients and their families that have underlying neurological conditions.

Shannon credits her mother as being her biggest influence. As a child she watched her work hard to become a registered nurse and she continued to be the best mom to her children and the passion for her career and the people she cared for was palpable.

Shannon received her Master of Science in Medicine from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich. She gets excited to come to work every day to meet all of the wonderful people she gets the opportunity and privilege to care for. Shannon has special interests in headache disorders, movement disorders and seizure disorders.

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys physical fitness and weight training. In the winter she loves snowmobiling in the UP and in the summertime she enjoys being on the lake and spending time with family. Shannon and her children love to volunteer and help our local community by volunteering and donating to various animal shelters and homeless shelters.
