Taylor Owen, BS, ATC, EMT

Certified Athletic Trainer at Portage Northern High School
Taylor Owen

Profile

Taylor chose Athletic Training because of her love for medicine—specifically orthopedics and emergency care. Early on, she was able to see how big an impact her athletic trainer left on her by being able to specialize in healthcare and help in the sports field at the same time.

She credits her mom as the biggest influence in her life since day one. She instilled in Taylor from a very young age that hard work isn’t easy, and some days you just have to “pull yourself up by your bootstraps and keep on going.” But in the end it is so rewarding to see your accomplishments. Her Mom also taught her the value of empathy and how being kind can change even one small thing in someone's day.

Taylor gets excited about coming to work each day because she knows how much of a difference she can make in athletes' lives and recoveries. She loves getting to see her athletes grow and succeed on and off the field; while also being their biggest supporter and giving them the tools to be at their best emotionally and physically.

Outside of work, Taylor loves spending time with her husband Lance and daughter Tatum. She also enjoys spending time with her sister and nephew. Family is super important to her, so any chance she gets to spend time with them makes her very happy! Taylor also enjoys being outside as a family, which includes going to the dirt bike track and golfing!
