Profile

Dr. Ferrer chose to become a gastroenterologist due to the complexity of body functions that encompass multiple organ systems in the gastrointestinal tract and how remarkably they work together. He is motivated each day through the interaction with colleagues in the hospital to improve the health of patients who are dealing with acute gastrointestinal conditions.

Dr. Ferrer credits his grandparents as having the biggest influence in his life. They helped him develop a deep appreciation of family that helped build his character, develop his desire to care for others and harness his attention for detail.

In addition to his clinical work, he enjoys volunteering his time giving GI lectures to medical residents and participating in various hospital subcommittees to help improve the quality-of-care delivery.

In his free time, Dr. Ferrer enjoys spending time with his family, fitness and music.
