Profile

Dr. Virgin decided on a career in vascular surgery because of its perfect blend of classic surgery with the cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques available in the field. He appreciates that the field of vascular surgery allows him the opportunity to constantly learn and grow while making a life-changing impact on the lives of his patients.

Dr. Virgin took inspiration from his mother, watching her juggle several jobs while pursuing a career in health administration. Her dedication to providing for her family while simultaneously achieving her own dreams and aspirations left him forever grateful and taught him the true meaning of perseverance and determination.

Dr. Virgin relishes the challenge of piecing together each patient’s unique puzzle. He realizes that it is not just about the disease itself, but that other factors come into play. Moreover, while there are patterns to disease, no two patients are ever completely alike. For Dr. Virgin, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of finally cracking the code and finding the optimum solution for each patient.

While Dr. Virgin’s passion for vascular surgery runs deep, his particular area of expertise lies in venous disease. This includes tackling challenging cases involving blood clots in the legs and lungs, where he can utilize the latest minimally invasive techniques to achieve optimal outcomes. He is equally passionate about performing minimally invasive procedures for arterial occlusive disease.

In his free time, Dr. Virgin cherishes time spent with his wife and children. He has also developed an affinity for collecting and refurbishing vintage fountain pens. He is fascinated by the intricate design and craftsmanship of the writing instruments and enjoys the process of restoring them to their former glory. When not tinkering with fountain pens, Dr. Virgin may be found on an area golf course or enjoying a run.

Dr. Virgin has previously participated in medical mission trips to underserved areas such as Guatemala and Bangladesh. Not only have these mission trips served to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, but they have also provided him with a greater appreciation for the importance of culturally sensitive and patient-centered care.
