This past year has been challenging for many parents as you’ve had to make important decisions about vaccines for your children — whether to get them and which ones to choose.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has always felt the importance of immunizing pediatric patients in order to prevent them from becoming ill with diseases that have the potential to be deadly. The AAP understands that medical exemptions are sometimes necessary, but it continues to discourage non-medical vaccine exemptions for children. This article can give you a more in-depth understanding on the AAP’s position.

I recently wrote this article on the importance of immunizations, totally empathizing with the challenges you are facing today due to confusion of information that’s out there. At the same time, we are asking you to trust us as physicians with knowledge in children’s care, and believe that we are advocating for your child’s best interests and medical care.
