When to Seek QuickCare Plus Vs. Emergency Room Care
Unexpected health issues like seasonal allergies, sinus infections, wounds or other injuries can happen when you least expect them. That's why it is important to know where to get care when unexpected health issues occur.
QuickCare Plus vs. Emergency Room (ER) - What’s the Difference?
QuickCare Plus:
QuickCare Plus can be your go-to for common ailments and minor injuries needing prompt attention but aren’t life-threatening or emergent. Here, you can receive care for conditions such as minor fractures needing X-rays, sprains, ear infections, cold and flu symptoms, minor burns and cuts requiring stitches. Patients will be transferred to the ER if a higher level of care is needed.
Emergency Room:
The ER is the best option for serious or life-threatening emergencies such as stroke symptoms, chest pain, difficulty breathing or abdominal pain. Equipped with medical specialists, as well as advanced diagnostic imaging and lab testing, the ER can handle complex situations and provide extended care and hospitalization if needed.

Other Care Options to Consider
Your Primary Care Provider:
For urgent issues, your primary care provider is a great first contact. They often have reserved slots for urgent cases and are familiar with your medical history, providing personalized advice.
Bronson QuickCare™:
Bronson QuickCare™ offers convenient, no appointment necessary medical care for basic healthcare needs. While they do not offer all of the services available at an urgent care, like treatment for broken bones, they are a good alternative if you are unable to get a last-minute appointment with your primary care provider.
There are two QuickCare locations in Kalamazoo at 5623 Gull Rd. and 6220 W. Main St. Bronson QuickCare™ visits are just $75, with or without insurance. If additional lab services are needed, there may be an additional cost.
Both Kalamazoo locations are open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On-Demand Video Visits:
If you need immediate care and can’t visit in person, consider an On-Demand Video Visit from your mobile device. Available daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., this service allows you to consult with a healthcare provider remotely. You don’t need to be a Bronson patient to use this service.
