Pediatric Nutrition

Nutrition is an important health concern at any stage of life. Because infants and children have different nutritional needs than adults, Bronson Children’s Hospital employs a staff of registered dietitians who specialize in pediatric nutrition.
Our experienced pediatric nutrition staff is available to provide both inpatient and outpatient nutrition assessment and counseling for infants and children, from birth through adolescence. Services provided include evaluation of growth, computer analysis of recorded dietary intake, and assessment of nutritional needs.

We provide counseling for a wide variety of diagnoses that affect nutrition and growth, including:

  • Prematurity
  • Failure to thrive
  • Obesity
  • Anorexia nervosa
  • Developmental delay
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Chronic constipation
  • Short bowel syndrome
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Cancer
  • Thermal or traumatic injury
  • Treatment of infants and children who require enteral or parenteral nutrition support
