Get back on track with your health and wellness routine
Due to COVID-19 and Governor Whitmer's mandated closure of health clubs across the state, we remain closed at this time.
While we navigate a new world that requires social distancing, masks and increased cleaning precautions, the club may look a little different when we are able to open our doors again. However, our commitment to providing a safe, healthy and full-service fitness experience remains the same.
Safe options for all
When you return to the club, all your favorite spaces will be available – including strength and cardio equipment, the basketball court and indoor track, group exercise, personal training, swimming, and more.
As they are in small quarters, making it difficult to practice proper social distancing, the steam rooms and sauna will be closed until further notice.
Ensuring cleanliness and stopping the spread of germs
To help keep all members, guests and staff, you will notice several improvements throughout the club upon our reopening. Some of these improvements are temporary and will be adjusted as time goes on in accordance to Bronson’s infection prevention team and industry best practices:
- 17 new wall mounted hand sanitizers and 176 cleaning stations throughout the club
- Every other piece of cardio equipment is closed off, allowing for proper social distancing
- Gym valets (spray bottles and microfiber towels) on every piece of equipment
- Socially distanced group exercise studio with limited class sizes
- Staff following a strict, in-depth cleaning routine throughout the day
- Nightly deep cleaning of the entire facility
The new normal - we're all in this together
Although our team is following strict new standards and precautions to ensure the club is safe for all, we ask that you also do your part. Check out the topics below to learn what to expect the next time you come to the club, and what you can do to help make Bronson Wellness Center a great place to work out, relax and enjoy the camaraderie of others!
Wearing a mask
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household. In accordance with these recommendations and Bronson Healthcare’s guidelines, we ask that you wear a mask when entering and leaving the club, as well as at all times inside the club that you’re physically able to do so. For example, if you are taking a light walk around the track while socializing with a friend, we recommend you continue to wear a mask. However, if you are working out vigorously on the elliptical, please, take off your face covering. Masks should not be warn in the pool area due to the chlorine and heat. Read more details and see tips for properly wearing a mask.
Arriving at the club
Checking-in at the club will look a bit different next time you come to the club. These improvements will help keep you, your fellow gym-goers, and our team safe and healthy while we work through the changes that COVID-19 has brought our way. Read about the new check-in process now.
Wiping down your equipment
We've installed 176 cleaning stations throughout the club. We call these Gym Valets, and each is equipped with a hospital grade disinfectant and a black microfiber towel. The disinfectant we've chosen is a quat disinfectant manufactured by 3M. We also have installed 17 wall mounted hand sanitizers. We ask that before and after you workout on any cardio or strength equipment, you follow this process for wiping down your equipment.
Attending group exercise classes
Upon reopening, you'll find a limited number of classes on the group exercise schedule. We will evaluate class participation weekly and add new classes as appropriate. Learn more about what group exercise classes will look like.
When you come back to the club for your workouts, feel confident bringing your kids along, too. We have protocols in place to keep everyone safe and healthy inside the facility, including temperature checks, easy to reach hand sanitizer stations, limited capacity and more.
