Cooking Demonstrations

Healthy cooking demos are held monthly in our on-site test kitchen. During each program, you’ll watch our team of nutrition educators prepare a healthy meal. Following the demo, you will have the opportunity to taste the food. You’ll walk away from class with the ability to and comfort in creating tasty, nutritious meals in your own home. Upcoming classes include:

  • Cooking Class: B is for Blueberries
    Thursday, August 9, 6 to 8 p.m.
    Everyone knows that blueberries are one of the world’s super foods. Learn how to get the most out of these little blue gems! Learn to prepare five healthy blueberry dishes like blueberry bruschetta, salad, BBQ sauce and more.
    Cost: $10 members, $15 non-members
  • Salad for Dinner? You Bet!
    Tuesday, August 14, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
    Watch and learn how to make three delicious salads that use plenty of fresh-from-the-garden produce, unique whole grains, and lean protein.
    Cost: $10 members, $15 non-members
  • Cooking Class: Prepped for that!
    Tuesday, September 18, 6 to 8 p.m.
    Maximize your routine with meal prep! Learn how to plan, create and amplify your meals by having healthy snacks, lunches and dinners always at your fingertips. Taste one of each and leave with 10 easy meal prep recipes.
    Cost: $10 members, $15 non-members

Looking for a class for your child or grandchild to attend? Periodically throughout the year, we offer cooking and healthy living classes designed specially for kids. Scheduled kids cooking and healthy living classes include:

  • Kids Cook: Smashing Summer Jams
    Friday, August 17, 10 a.m. to noon
    Kids between 6 and 14 years old will have fun mixing and mashing fresh, locally grown fruits to make two jars of delicious summer jam – triple berry and harvest peach.
    Cost: $10 members, $15 non-members

Additional opportunities to learn about healthy eating habits

In addition to cooking classes, you can take part in nutrition education and healthy living programs, have your recipes analyzed and revised to be healthier, and participate in other nutrition-based programs led by our team of experts.
