Benefit Dinner to Support Services for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Abuse

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Bronson Health Foundation invites the community to turn
out for a special evening in support of Bronson Sexual Assault Services (SAS) on Thursday, April 10 at DoubleTree by Hilton – Battle Creek. The benefit dinner highlights and helps fund programs and services that have a significant impact on the lives of sexual assault survivors and their families.
SAS offers comprehensive and free support
to survivors and community members in Calhoun County, along with a regional
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program that also covers Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties. SAS is sustained by grants and community contributions through Bronson Health Foundation.
The event features keynote speaker Demarra West, a therapist, author, and wellness expert. A survivor herself, Demarra shares her journey of resilience and healing in her powerful memoir, Me Too: A Therapist's Journey to Heal, Find Liberation & Joy. She is the founder of Be Well Beautiful People, a nonprofit dedicated to trauma recovery and advocacy, and Be Well Beautiful Woman, a global initiative empowering female leaders through holistic healing and mindset support.
“Demarra West speaks from the heart and has such a passion for inspiring and empowering people, I know this will be a special evening in support of our work,” says Amber Depuydt-Goodlock, system manager of SAS. “It’s so meaningful to have a room full of community members who recognize the impact SAS has on survivors and their loved ones.”
The evening also includes a plated meal, silent auction, and recognition of the dedicated work of Bronson Sexual Assault Services volunteers.
Terry Morrow, president of Bronson Health Foundation, adds that gifts made to SAS provide care and comfort when needed most. “From art supplies and snacks for children at the Child Advocacy Clinic, to trauma informed yoga classes, to HIV preventative medicines – these programs and services may go unnoticed to the larger community, but they are the things that let survivors know they have a support system standing with them.”
Gathering for the event and the opening of the silent auction begin at 4:30, with the program and dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. To purchase individual tickets or sponsor the event, visit the event website at bronsonfoundation.com/sas2025.
