Bronson Battle Creek (BBC) has completed a rigorous examination and is now designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast-imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
“When our patients see the gold seal of accreditation, they can be assured that Bronson Battle Creek meets the highest level of patient safety standards and imaging quality,” said Julie Holley, RT (R) (M), lead mammographer in the Bronson Battle Creek Mary Coleman Women’s Center. “It means that our staff and our facility have gone through a comprehensive review by the ACR and we are now recognized as having earned the ‘gold standard’ in medical imaging.”
Board-certified physicians and medical physicists, experts in their fields, have determined that BBC has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists. Their programs focus on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology, and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
