Bronson Healthcare Expands Leadership Team

Bronson recently announced several strategic leadership appointments that reinforce its ongoing commitment to exceptional, patient-centered care for all and operational excellence across the system. 

“As we get ready to celebrate our 125th anniversary, we remain focused on our mission: Together, We Advance the Health of Our Communities," said Bill Manns, President & CEO of Bronson Healthcare. “These leaders bring deep experience and will play a key role as we continue to grow and improve how we care for our patients, support our team members and serve our communities.”

New Leadership Appointments:

Todd Bennett, DO, MBA, has been named Vice President of Medical Affairs & Chief Medical Officer for Bronson Methodist Hospital. As the hospital’s senior physician executive, Dr. Bennett leads efforts to improve patient safety and the quality and efficiency of patient care. He has served as a hospitalist since joining Bronson in 2006 and has served as the Chief Medical Information Officer since 2022. Bennett obtained his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business and his bachelor’s degree in physiology from Michigan State University.

Bronson welcomes Chris Rees, FACHE, as Senior Vice President & Chief Quality Officer, a 20-year veteran in healthcare management. He oversees system-wide quality, patient experience and care management, Bronson at Home and Bronson Commons. Rees holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Kentucky and dual master’s degrees – an MBA and Master of Health Services Administration – from Xavier University. Rees is a passionate leader in healthcare quality, patient safety and performance improvement and comes to us from Optum.

Jon Sherwood has been promoted to Vice President of Finance. He oversees financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, accounts payable, payroll and financial planning to ensure responsible financial stewardship. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accountancy from Grand Valley State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has been with Bronson since 2018.

Troy Shirley, PharmD, MBA, has been promoted to Vice President of Pharmacy. Shirley leads the strategy and operations of pharmacy services across the Bronson system. He has driven innovation and growth in pharmacy operations, since joining Bronson in 2016. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, his MBA from Ohio University and completed his residency at OhioHealth Grand Medical Center.
