Bronson LakeView Hospital Nurse Receives Nursing Award for Providing Extraordinary Care
In honor of Nurses' Week, Bronson LakeView Hospital recognized an extraordinary nurse.
Between May 8 and 12, 2017, nurses throughout the Bronson system were celebrated for their hard work and dedication to the nursing profession. At Bronson LakeView Hospital, Jeaneen Orbeck, RN, received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
Orbeck, a case manager, was nominated by a former patient who felt Orbeck went above and beyond to provide her with an exceptional hospital stay. The patient explained that “I had been waiting for months to get a surgery scheduled at another hospital. When I was at Bronson LakeView for another procedure, Jeaneen called the hospital and stayed on the phone with them until she could get my surgery scheduled. God bless her for caring and being willing to help me because I had given up!”
The following nurses were also nominated for the Daisy Award:
- Anna Beavers, RN
- Jolinda Douglas, RN
- Erica Huizenga, MSN, RN
- Jennifer Luykx, RN
- Leah Simpson, RN
About The DAISY Award
The DAISY Award is supported by the not-for-profit DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation. Bonnie and J. Mark Barnes created this foundation and award as a way to remember their son, J. Patrick Barnes. He had a disease that attacked his body and was in the hospital for a long time. His nurses did such a great job with him that the Barnes family created an award that continues to recognize the excellent work nurses do every day.
Bronson LakeView Hospital is partnering with the DAISY Foundation to recognize outstanding nurses. Forms from patients, family members and clinical staff are accepted throughout the year. Nurses may be honored online at bronsonthankanurse.com. If you have a story to share about a positive experience you have had at Bronson, you can share it online at bronsonpositivity.com.
