Throughout the week, patient care assistants (PCAs) and nursing technicians were honored for the outstanding contributions they make every day to providing exceptional healthcare experiences for every patient, every time. At Bronson LakeView Hospital, Ivy Smith, a PCA in the behavioral health unit, was recognized with the Sunshine Award. The annual award recognizes nursing assistants who go above-and-beyond the call of duty to ensure our patients receive compassionate, high-quality care.

Ivy was nominated for the Sunshine Award by a patient’s family member who explained that Ivy is attentive, quick to help patients, and extremely kind. “Her attentive behavior toward all of her patients allowed me to spend time with my father in a pleasurable environment, and assured me that my father is being treated with the care and respect that every patient deserves.”
