Bronson LakeView Hospital Presents Patient Care Assistant with Award for Excellence
From June 15 to 22, Bronson Healthcare celebrated National Nursing Assistant Week. Throughout the week, patient care assistants (PCAs) and technicians were honored for the outstanding contributions they make every day to providing exceptional healthcare experiences for every patient, every time. At Bronson LakeView Hospital, Kenyada Underwood, an emergency department (ED) tech, was recognized with the Sunshine Award. The annual award recognizes nursing assistants who go above-and-beyond the call of duty to ensure our patients receive compassionate, high-quality care.
Kenyada received the Sunshine Award because of her ability to take difficult situations and make them as pleasant as possible. “Kenyada always has a smile on her face and never complains. During a recent situation where a mother was agitated while her child was on the unit, Kenyada helped calm the mother and actually befriended her. This interaction not only made the experience better for the mother and patient, but for every other patient and ED staff member. Her ability to be proactive in turn helps the ED run more smoothly and quickly.”
