Bronson Methodist Hospital Nationally Recognized as Bicycle Friendly Business
The League of American Bicyclists' recently recognized Bronson Methodist Hospital as a Gold-Designated Bicycle Friendly Business! This achievement is an example of Bronson’s mission in action— to advance the health of our communities. Bronson is the first organization in Kalamazoo and the largest in the state to receive this designation.
Bronson’s unique Bike2Work program, availability of bike racks and bike lockers across campus, and bike safety advocacy throughout the community helped the organization to become Gold-Designated by the league. “We are always looking for new ways to promote healthy living among our workforce, and also build a cleaner, more sustainable community,” explains Brendan Molony, sustainability coordinator at Bronson. “Our Bike2Work program provides a fun and engaging way for employees to build more physical activity into their daily routines, while reducing their environmental footprint and helping reduce downtown parking demand. Not to mention, participants have access to bicycle-related discounts around the community.”
