Bronson Methodist Hospital Receives Echocardiography Accreditation for Adult and Pediatric Heart Care

Bronson Methodist Hospital has been granted a three-year term of accreditation in Echocardiography in the areas of Adult and Pediatric Transthoracic by the Intersocietal Commission (IAC).

Echocardiography is a test that uses sound waves to create a moving picture of the heart to view structure, movement and blood flow. It allows for early detection of life threatening heart disorders and other disease.

“This accreditation recognizes Bronson’s commitment to excellent patient care and quality diagnostic testing to detect and manage heart disease,” said Bronson Advanced Cardiac Healthcare cardiologist, Michael Pack, DO, FACC, FASE. “Working with high integrity images is crucial to providing the best care to our adult and pediatric patients.”

Accreditation by the IAC means that Bronson has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process, including detailed case study review.

In 1998, Bronson became the first hospital in Michigan to receive Pediatric Echo Accreditation. Annually, Bronson’s Echo Lab serves as a diagnostic resource to approximately 4,100 adults and, as the area’s only children’s hospital, Bronson provides this important cardiac test to more than 2,000 children.
