Bronson Methodist Hospital Recognizes Q1 2019 DAISY Award Winning Nurses
Four registered nurses from Bronson Methodist Hospital (BMH) are recent recipients of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Sadie Devoe, BSN, RN, Tracy Jackson, RN, Sally Kirchhoff, BSN, and Jennifer VanderKlok, BSN, RN, each received the award during the first quarter of 2019 for going above-and-beyond to provide an exceptional healthcare experience for their patients.
Nominations for the DAISY Award come from patients, family members and colleagues. Read about each winner below to find out why they received the DAISY Award.
Sadie Devoe, BSN, RN, is a nurse in the general medical unit (GMU). “Sadie was instrumental to my child’s emotional and physical health. Being that they were roughly the same age, she treated my child like a person, and not just another cancer patient.” Read Sadie’s entire nomination now.
Tracy Jackson, RN, is an outpatient surgery nurse. “Tracy was very informative, detailed and non-hurried in her approach. She kept me updated as to what I should expect next. She truly made my experience less stressful!” Read Tracy’s entire nomination now.
Sally Kirchhoff, BSN, RN, is a nurse on the trauma care unit (TCU). “Sally bought the patient new clothes and hygiene supplies to help them feel more comfortable. About the DAISY Award
The DAISY Award is supported by the not-for-profit DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation. Bonnie and J. Mark Barnes created this foundation and award as a way to remember their son, J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick had a disease that attacked his body and was in the hospital for a long time. His nurses did such a great job with him that the Barnes family created an award that continues to recognize the excellent work nurses do every day.
