Bronson Nurses Awarded 2017 Nursing Scholarships

Congratulations to the 2017 Bronson Nursing Scholarship recipients!

Out of 41 applicants across the Bronson Healthcare system, eight registered nurses (RNs) were selected to receive awards on behalf of the Bronson Health Foundation. These scholarships will help cover the costs of continuing their advanced nursing degrees. “It was tough for the committee to narrow down the list,” says Denise Neely, MBA, BSN, vice president and system chief nursing executive. “We had more nurse’s complete applications this year than in the past. I am always impressed to see the number of nurses who are working so hard to complete their degree and ensure our patients receive the highest level of care possible.”

Plus, for the first time since the scholarship fund began, a Bronson Battle Creek nurse received money toward their bachelor’s degree. “I am extremely proud of Jamie and the other 10 Bronson Battle Creek nurses who applied for the scholarship,” says Dorothy Malcom, MSN, RN, BBC chief nursing officer and VP of patient care services. “It is inspiring to see the commitment our nursing teams have to continuing their education and improving patient outcomes.”
