Bronson Colon & Rectal Surgery will offer a free colon health workshop on May 22.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Colorectal surgeon, Edward Itawi, MD, will present the best ways to prevent this disease, and discuss common risk factors and warning signs.
Dr. Itawi specializes in diverticulitis, prevention and treatment of tumors of the colon and rectum, natural orifice surgery, enhanced recovery following abdominal operations, anal fistulas, hemorrhoids, abscesses and gastrointestinal bleeding.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 7:15 until 8:15 p.m. at Friendship Village on 1400 N. Drake in Kalamazoo. It is free and open to the public.
