Bronson MyChart Users Can See Their Medical Images.

Bronson Patients Can Now View Their Medical Images on MyChart

Kalamazoo, Mich. – Bronson Healthcare recently released an upgraded version of its electronic health record, Bronson MyChart, making it possible for patients to now view medical and diagnostic images.

Bronson is the first hospital system in the U.S. to collaborate with its imaging vendor, Change Healthcare, and go-live with this functionality. Image viewing through patient portals and healthcare systems has been available for several years with other vendor partners, however. Bronson MyChart users have been able to read the text of imaging result reports for several years. Now, patients will have immediate access to the images of their x-rays, MRIs, CT scans and ultrasounds at the same time the text report is available.

“Across the Bronson Healthcare system, our teams are working to make access to healthcare services and electronic health information easier for our patients. Adding image viewing to Bronson MyChart is another step forward in improving care coordination and our patients’ overall experience.” said Todd Bennett DO, chief medical information officer at Bronson.

Bronson MyChart, powered by Epic, is a free and secure online health portal that connects patients to their medical records and care team all in one place. Approximately 300,000 Bronson patients use MyChart, which allows them to find appropriate care options, schedule appointments, send messages to their doctor, refill medications, see a doctor online via an e-visit or video visit, use Symptom Checker and much more.
