Bronson Receives more than $70,000 Donation from Kohl's

The Children's Hospital at Bronson will receive more than $70,000 from Kohl's Department Store, through the Kohl's Cares(r) cause merchandise program, on Thursday, September 23 during the Child Passenger Safety Week Celebration. The donations were collected from Kohl's stores located in the Kalamazoo area. Since 2005, Kohl's has gifted more than $338,000 to the Children's Hospital at Bronson for community outreach programs focused on injury prevention and health education.

"Kohl's has been a great partner of The Children's Hospital at Bronson," says James L. Loker M.D., medical director of The Children's Hospital at Bronson. "In conjunction with Safe Kids Kalamazoo County, this gift will our allow us to continue health education and injury prevention programs."

Car Seat Safety: Hands-On Instruction
Safe Kids Kalamazoo County will have certified child passenger safety technicians available to provide hands-on instruction on installing child safety seats at Christian Life Center, 1225 W. Paterson, on Thursday, September 23 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Four out of five car seats are used wrong. The lives of 8,325 children under age 5 have been saved by the proper use of child restraints during the past 30 years, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration research.
