Bronson Wound Center & Hyperbaric Medicine in South Haven Recognized with National Award for Clinical Excellence
Wound Center plans public open house for April 26
Bronson Wound Center & Hyperbaric Medicine in South Haven was recently awarded the Center of Distinction designation from Healogics. There were 635 U.S. Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 427 achieved this honor for clinical excellence.
“This designation is another example of the quality of care that we are proud to offer to patients along the lakeshore,” said Kirk Richardson, Chief Operating Officer at Bronson South Haven. “It is truly a partnership of caring here at Bronson South Haven that allows us to provide the level of care necessary to achieve this high level designation.”
To become a Center of Distinction, a wound center must achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal.
Bronson Wound Center & Hyperbaric Medicine offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
The Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers® in the United States and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds.
“For those living with diabetes or other chronic health issues, proper wound care is crucial for both limb preservation and overall health,” says Allan Caudill, MD, medical director of Bronson Wound Center & Hyperbaric Medicine in South Haven. “As a member of the Healogics™ network, we employ a rigorous scientific approach to explore, test, find and develop the clinically proven methods and technologies that help patients heal faster and more completely than before.”
