C.A.R.E. Channel Helps Create Healing Environment in Patient Rooms
Inpatients across the Bronson Healthcare system can now tune in to the C.A.R.E. Channel on televisions in their rooms. The channel provides nature imagery and soothing music, helping to improve the patient/family experience by easing distress and anxiety. The 24-hour program creates calm, quiet surroundings.
The programming appears each time a television set in a patient’s room is turned on. Daytime scenes end at 10 p.m. with a brief sunset. A star field will play throughout the night. Staff members are encouraged to talk to patients about the C.A.R.E. Channel and suggest it as a way to help create a healing environment.
The C.A.R.E Channel is available at Bronson Methodist Hospital on channels 11 and 61, channel 2 in Battle Creek, and channel 18 at Bronson LakeView Hospital.
The programming was recently made available at Bronson Battle Creek through funding from the Bronson Health Foundation.
