Farm to Table Dinner Raises Nearly $85,000 for Bronson Children's Hospital
The fourth annual Carlson Farms-Farm to Table Dinner resulted in another record-setting year in support of Bronson Children’s Hospital. The event raised $84,624 to provide programs and services for young patients and their families at the only children’s hospital in southwest Michigan.
More than 550 people shared in the farm to table meal in the picturesque, outdoor setting near Lawton. The event featured a three-course plated dinner prepared by local chefs, entertainment, and both a silent and live auction. The evening was topped off by a fireworks display in honor of retiring Bronson Healthcare President and CEO Frank Sardone and his wife, Susan Fall.
Over the last four years, a total of nearly $185,000 has been raised for the Bronson Children’s Hospital Fund through the Bronson Health Foundation. This year’s event supports three specific projects: new communication boards for each room of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), parent meals for current NICU families, and food for the pediatric family pantry.
“The dinner just keeps growing each year. It’s really heartening to see so many community members gathering to share in a meal and connecting for a common cause,” says Liz Semaan, executive director of the Bronson Health Foundation. “It wouldn’t happen without the generosity of Norm and Karen Carlson who graciously host the dinner and really go above and beyond to make this such a special event.”
Previous years’ events have helped fund Bronson’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit camera project, renovations to the pediatric playroom and a redesign of the Bronson Children’s Hospital Family Lounge.
