Constance Brown Hearing Centers Join Bronson Healthcare
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Effective January 1, 2023, Constance Brown Hearing Centers (CBHC) will become part of the Bronson Healthcare system and have a new name — Bronson Constance Brown Hearing Center (BCBHC). Current staff will continue in their roles so patients should not experience any disruption in service.
BCBCH will be a member of Bronson Medical Group where it will be easier for audiologists to collaborate and schedule follow-up services with Bronson’s Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists. Patients will also benefit from having hearing visits included in their Bronson MyChart account which keeps all of their electronic medical records in one place.
BCBHC will provide audiology services in four area locations. Its two current locations at 1634 Gull Road in Kalamazoo and 4855 West Centre Avenue in Portage, and two additional locations at Bronson Methodist Hospital and Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. The new hospital sites will initially offer audiology testing only with expansion to additional services in the future.
CBHC has been a nonprofit hearing healthcare provider that has served southwest Michigan since 1942 under the auspices of the Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo. It was established through an estate gift from Constance Brown, a prominent local resident who had experienced hearing loss.
As part of the transition, CBHC donated its assets to Bronson and made a donation to the Bronson Health Foundation in the form of a restricted endowment fund to assist individuals who are hearing impaired and need financial assistance.
