DAISY Award Presented to Bronson South Haven Nurse During 2018 Nurses' Week
Nurses throughout the Bronson Healthcare system were recognized during Nurses’ Week from May 6 to 12, 2018. At Bronson South Haven Hospital, Angela Pelosi-Harrison, RN, received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She receives this honor due to her dedication to providing an exceptional healthcare experience for every person, every time.
Angela, a surgery nurse, was nominated for the award by the husband of a patient. He explained that “Angela’s happy, friendly personality brightens the mood of others around her.” He went on to explain “This is so important. My wife was so nervous and afraid when we came in [for her surgery]. After visiting with Angela, my wife was smiling and I could really tell she felt better.”
About The DAISY Award
The DAISY Award is supported by the not-for-profit DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation. Bonnie and J. Mark Barnes created this foundation and award as a way to remember their son, J. Patrick Barnes. He had a disease that attacked his body and was in the hospital for a long time. His nurses did such a great job with him that the Barnes family created an award that continues to recognize the excellent work nurses do every day.
Bronson South Haven Hospital is partnering with the DAISY Foundation to recognize outstanding nurses. Forms from patients, family members and clinical staff are accepted throughout the year. Nurses may be honored online at bronsonthankanurse.com. If you have a story to share about a positive experience you have had at Bronson, you can share it online at bronsonpositivity.com.
