Daniel P. Stewart, MD, FACEP has been named vice president medical affairs for Bronson Battle Creek (BBC). He succeeds Dr. Thomas Ignaczak who has returned to clinical practice at Bronson Internal Medicine – Fremont Street in Battle Creek.
Dr. Stewart is well known to the local medical community since having moved his emergency medicine practice to BBC in the fall of 2011. For the past two years, he has served as an attending physician and medical director of Bronson trauma and emergency department. He also serves as medical director for Calhoun County Medical Control Authority.
Dr. Stewart did his undergraduate work at Alma College in Alma, Michigan, and received his doctor of medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha) from Wayne State University in Detroit. He interned in emergency medicine at Wayne State University and completed his residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He joined Bronson Methodist Hospital in 1987 and subsequently served as section chief and then medical director for the emergency department at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Stewart assumed his new responsibilities as vice president medical affairs earlier this month. He continues to serve as medical director for occupational medicine for Bronson Healthcare and to practice part time in emergency medicine at BBC.
