Fashion Show to Support Cancer Care
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center is hosting its Fifth Annual Cancer Survivor Fashion Show on Tuesday, September 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event takes place at the First Congregational Church, 145 Capital Avenue NE in Battle Creek.
“We are continuing this highly successful fashion show to honor those who are cancer survivors,” said Sha’marie Heberer, an oncology social worker in the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center. “This is an opportunity to enjoy a fun evening of food and fashion. There will be a silent auction with lots of prizes. It’s a great way to support those who are fighting cancer.” All proceeds from the show go to the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Medication Fund and the Cancer Care Center Special Needs Fund.
Programs and services at The Cancer Care Center include support groups, private counseling, a peer support network, mind/body wellness activities, a patient assistance fund, a resource library and more.
“We are extremely fortunate to have people among us who have the beauty, strength and courage to be part of a cancer networking opportunity like this fashion show to help others face this often deadly disease,” added Sue DeRuiter, RN, BS, CBPN-C, nurse navigator at The Cancer Care Center.
The models for the fashion show consist of cancer survivors and Bronson Battle Creek healthcare providers. Physicians from the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center will be accompanying the models onto the runway. The evening begins with heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert and refreshments. A silent auction will continue through the evening.
Tickets are available for $25 each at the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center, Gift Shop and Green Door Re-Store. Or, call (269) 245-8075 to reserve tickets for pick up at the event. For more information, contact Sha’marie Heberer at (269) 245-8038.
