Joint Commission Names Bronson LakeView Top Performer
The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America, recently named Bronson LakeView Hospital one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures. The Paw Paw hospital was recognized for its success in implementing evidence-based practices that significantly improve care for pneumonia patients.
Bronson LakeView is one of only 405 U.S. hospitals and critical access hospitals, and one of only ten hospitals in Michigan, to earn this distinction for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance. Inclusion on the list of top performers is based on data reported during 2010.
“We understand how important it is for our patients to know they are receiving safe, effective care,” says Sally Berglin, CEO, Bronson LakeView Hospital. “That’s why our staff has such a strong commitment to benchmarking our performance against the best in the industry and to achieving positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes. We are very proud to be named to the list of The Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures.”
“Today, the public expects transparency in the reporting of performance at the hospitals where they receive care, and The Joint Commission is shining a light on the top performing hospitals such as Bronson LakeView Hospital that have achieved excellence on a number of vital measures of quality of care,” says Mark R. Chassin, M.D., FACP, M.P.P., M.P.H., president, The Joint Commission.
In addition to being included in the release of The Joint Commission’s “Improving America’s Hospitals” annual report (www.jointcommission.org/annualreport), Bronson LakeView Hospital will be recognized on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check website (www.qualitycheck.org).
