Sexual Assault Services Celebrates 20 Years of Service
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Sexual Assault Services (SAS) invites the community to celebrate the organization’s 20th anniversary during a free event featuring keynote speaker Elizabeth Smart. Smart will present a message of hope and inspiration as she shares her story with the audience. At the age of 14, Smart was abducted and held captive before being rescued nine months later.
The Sexual Assault Services Community Forum will take place on Wednesday, April 20 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Binda Performing Arts Center in Battle Creek.
“The forum is a way to recognize and celebrate the impact SAS has made in helping victims across southwest Michigan,” says Joyce Siegel, program manager at Sexual Assault Services. “Elizabeth Smart’s story is just one example of how significant sexual assault services can be in a person’s journey to recovery.”
