Update on COVID-19 Testing at Bronson

The Bronson Healthcare system continues to address the rapidly changing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic with a focus, as always, on the health and safety of everyone in our region. Our providers and staff are working diligently to meet patient care and testing needs in all of the communities we serve, but are limited by the nationwide shortage of testing kits.

As a result, Bronson is prioritizing testing based on those that will benefit most from being tested to ensure that we protect as many community members as possible. As our supplies increase in coming days, we expect to expand our testing capacity accordingly.

Currently, individuals who have COVID-19 symptoms and meet the criteria for testing are directed by appointment for specimen collection at a curbside screening site instead of going into a medical practice or hospital where they would be at risk of exposing others to the virus.

Anyone with symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing), is asked to call a Bronson Care Advisor at (269) 341-7788. The Care Advisor will determine over the phone if an individual meets the current Bronson criteria for COVID-19 testing.
