- Home health care is care from nurses or therapists to help you recover after being sick, recovering from an injury or being in the hospital
- Home care is help with daily tasks, like bathing or chores, and is usually paid for out-of-pocket.
- Hospice care is for people at or near the end of life and need comfort care.

How often will a health worker visit my home?
Each patient's care plan is unique based on their conditions; however, most patients are seen two or three times a week.
How soon will home health care start after I leave the hospital?
Services usually begin within 24 to 48 hours after leaving the hospital.
What happens during the first home health visit?
The first visit typically takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. A nurse or physical therapist will:
- Check your overall health
- Review your list of medications
- Ensure your home is safe with fall prevention measures and an emergency plan of action
How long can I receive home health care?
You can receive home health care as long as:
- You need skilled care
- You meet your care goals
- You are still homebound (have trouble leaving the house)
Where does Bronson at Home provide care?
We serve Calhoun, Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties. We may also travel outside these areas for IV infusion treatments and for children who need care at home.
How do I know if I qualify for home health care?
You must:
- Have a skilled need (like nursing or therapy)
- Be homebound
- Have a doctor who agrees to the care and sends a referral
How much does home health care cost?
Home health care coverage varies by insurance type. We will provide you with a cost breakdown, including co-pays, before starting care.
How do I pay for home health care?
Medicare covers home health care. If you have questions, talk to our authorization team by calling (844) 241-4663 or contact your insurance company.
